Hi, I’m Elizabeth Carter of Highlands Ranch, CO. I’m excited to share a little about myself and why I’ve decided to take on the extreme challenge of rappelling down a 38 story building, while also trying to raise money for an incredible foundation.

I was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. I’m grateful to share that I’m 3 ½ years cancer free. I think what’s pulling me most towards accepting this challenge, is that for the first time since my diagnosis, I honestly feel that I’m physically AND emotionally ready.

Cancer doesn’t discriminate!! It's such an insidious disease that not only affected me, but also family and friends and colleagues. I feel very blessed knowing I have such an incredible support system. By far though, my biggest fan is my husband Sean who is not only my best friend and soulmate but the true love of my life!

I am #5 of seven sisters. We’ve been raised to be strong, confident women by our incredible parents! They've taught us to be honest, loyal, and always strive to be the best version of ourselves every single day. These qualities have proven to be invaluable and have helped me during some dark times.

This September will be my first experience rappelling, however I’m accepting this challenge because 100% of the proceeds go directly towards research for Cancer League of Colorado. I was blown away to learn that last year alone, this organization raised over 1 million dollars. I can’t think of a better way to spend my day! Taking the "actual" steps to get myself "over the edge" of a tall building seems small in comparison to helping raise funds for additional research.

Thanks for taking the time to read this! I can’t wait for September 7th – Bring it!!

”once in the world you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right”

Every dollar I raise will be graciously matched by my awesome employer Viasat (up to $2,000).
